Hope for New York is piloting a program called Jobs for Life. Jobs for Life is a Biblically based curriculum designed to help bring dignity to impoverished communities through the empowerment of work. Practically, the program equips volunteers from local churches to come alongside men and women struggling with joblessness and poverty. Find out more HERE.
We’re planning to pilot this at The Bowery Mission in the Career Center. The reason I’m reaching out to you is, we are really in need of men to serve as mentors to the students at the Bowery. We have a number of women who are interested in connecting men with jobs or helping to teach the curriculum. However, we really need men to serve as mentors in this 8-week program starting in mid May.
Are you a guy (or do you know a guy) who would be interested in participating in this? We are holding an info session on April 18 (very soon!)
